Driver of the day: 2016 Russian Grand Prix

Nico Rosberg cruised to his seventh straight Grand Prix victory after securing pole position and leading every lap of the 2016 Russian GP.

Rosberg’s teammate Lewis Hamilton made huge progress early on and found himself in second place a couple of laps after his first pitstop after a brace of bold moves on Kimi Raikkonen and Valtteri Bottas.

The Finn’s finished third and fourth, Raikkonen taking Ferrari’s 700th podium in Formula One while Bottas earned his best result of the season in fourth.

Felipe Massa ended the race fifth with Fernando Alonso and Kevin Magnussen an excellent sixth and seventh respectively.

Grosjean scored points for the third time in four races ahead of Sergio Perez who earned his first points of the season with a ninth place finish.

Jenson Button took the final point ahead of Daniel Ricciardo who was involved in the first lap carnage.
