Max Verstappen believes it was a ‘good start to weekend’ for Toro Rosso in Bahrain after finishing fourth in second practice.
Toro Rosso underperformed at the season opener in Melbourne but look to be on the pace once again in Bahrain.
Toro Rosso have never scored a point at the Bahrain International Circuit in Sakhir but Friday was a great start for the Italian team.
Despite showing impressive pace in FP2, Verstappen is still wary of other teams such as Williams and Force India.
“A good start to the weekend. Of course there are still some things to improve, but it’s definitely been a good day – we didn’t have any problems and we had plenty of track time, so that’s very positive.
“You never know what other people are doing, so of course I’m still a bit cautious, but it’s looking positive here in Bahrain for us and we just need to keep improving because everybody else will.”
