‘More to come’ from Palmer in Bahrain

Jolyon Palmer believes there is ‘more to come’ from Renault after finishing both practice sessions at the Bahrain International Circuit towards to the bottom of the timesheets.

After impressing on his F1 debut in Australia, Palmer finished both practice sessions in a lowly 18th and 20th position, behind Renault teammate Kevin Magnussen.

Despite finishing down the order on Friday, the 2014 GP2 series champion believes there is ‘more to come’ from the RS16.

“It was good to get a full day of running on a Friday after the rain we had in Melbourne. There was a big difference in temperatures between both practice sessions, and with the circuit becoming less sandy and more rubber getting down, the track evolution was significant. We got a decent number of laps in today and there’s plenty to get on with overnight; there’s still more to come.”

Magnussen finished FP1 in 15th and was one place lower in FP2 in 16th.
