2016 F1 Season Preview – Red Bull

2016 F1 Season Preview – Red Bull

With politics pre-eminent at Milton Keynes in 2015, Red Bull Racing endured their first winless campaign since 2008, as the RB11 could only take the team to fourth in the constructors’ championship.

For Red Bull – a team who have become accustomed to the top step having won nearly a quarter of all races they have entered – three podiums in a year is simply not good enough.

The off-track blame game between the team and engine suppliers Renault took up a sizeable proportion of column inches written throughout the season, as their very public divorce made for one of the most compelling storylines of 2015. Undoubtedly, made more intriguing by the fact that, in the eleventh hour, Red Bull had to revert back to Renault in order to compete this year.

Rebranded as TAG Heuer engines, which will be developed by Red Bull and Illmor this season, the former champions are in need of a year where their headline making exploits are completed on track rather than in boardrooms.

In the slides below, we evaluate pre-season testing and predict what lies ahead for Red Bull in 2016, including how drivers Daniel Ricciardo and Daniil Kvyat will fare as their team enter somewhat of a new era.
