Sauber’s Felipe Nasr believes that he is fully ready for the first race of the new season after his final day of pre-season testing in Barcelona.
The Brazilian set a lap time of 1:24.760 on soft tyres to go sixth fastest in a session where he completed 116 laps in his final laps before the Australian Grand Prix. His day consisted of system checks on the car, alongside data collection and a race simulation.
Although Nasr believed that the car needed more mileage, he was pleased with his personal pre-season development: “It was another positive day in the new C35 car. We were able to accumulate good mileage on the car, doing a mix of short runs and a race simulation in the afternoon.
“That was really good, but we still have a lot of work to do. For me the next time in the car will be in Melbourne. I think, as far as the procedures are concerned, I have got myself prepared for the season opener.”
Marcus Ericsson takes over in the Sauber car for tomorrow’s final day of testing to gather more laps on the new C35.
