Sauber’s Felipe Nasr is delighted to have taken his first laps of pre-season testing at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya.
The Brazilian set a lap time of 1:26.392 on soft tyres to finish seventh fastest in a session where he completed 115 laps.
After the session, Nasr discussed his programme: “Overall I am pleased to finally be back in the car after the winter break – and completing 115 laps on my first day of testing. It’s been a while, so it is good to get back into the rhythm quickly.
“Today we were able to go through an extensive programme. In the morning, we did aero measurements and tested different set-ups. We then focused more on tyre testing during long runs in the afternoons, on soft as well as medium tyres.”
Nasr will continue in the Sauber during the final day of the first test tomorrow in what should be the final running of the C34 before their new C35 car arrives in the second test.
