# Ioda set for WSBK switch

The Italian-run Ioda Racing Project are set to switch to World Superbikes with Aprilia, according to [Motorsport.com.](https://www.motorsport.com/wsbk/news/ioda-closing-on-wsbk-switch-with-aprilia-670311/)

Ioda, who have run the old CRT Aprilia machine for the last two seasons, have been woefully uncompetitive in the MotoGP class since joining. Riders such as Alex de Angelis, Danilo Petrucci and Lukas Pesek have all ridden for the team, but none of them ever really looked a threat.

The team look set to stay on with Aprilia in World Superbikes, following in the footsteps of Forward Racing, who joined up with MV Agusta after Yamaha cut all ties with the team. Aprilia are looking for a team to run their RSV4s in the class, and it looks like the Ioda team fit the bill.

Speaking to GP One, Aprilia’s Romano Albesiano said “Sacchi has taken this initiative, and we are very close to agreeing a deal with him,” Aprilia’s Romano Albesiano

“It is a matter of a few days, because the bikes will leave for Australia between 8 and 10 February, that’s the deadline.”

Aprilia last year ran Leon Haslam and Jordi Torres under the Red Devils banner, however, it looks like they will be moving on from the Rome-based team.
