# 2015 Moto GP Season – In Pictures

The 2015 Moto GP season was enthralling throughout, on and off the circuit.

Valentino Rossi led the championship for almost the entire season as he chased a tenth world title, but ultimately Yamaha teammate Jorge Lorenzo took the crown, his third Moto GP title.

Third in the riders’ championship was Marc Marquez, who often had the speed throughout the season but was unable to remain consistent, leading to six retirements. The Spaniard had a crucial say on who would win the championship out of Rossi and Lorenzo, with the former and Marquez coming together in Malaysia resulting in a qualifying ban for Rossi all but handing Lorenzo the champion. Lorenzo delivered in the season finale in Valencia, storming to a dominant victory ahead of a passive Marquez.

Dani Pedrosa missed three races at the start of 2015, after choosing to undergo surgery to alleviate issues with arm-pump. The Spaniard struggled on his return but ended the season strongly, winning in Motegi and Sepang.
