Romain Grosjean finished ninth in his second to last race for the Lotus team, with the race being described as fun and the weekend as emotional.
After retirements in Sochi and Austin, Grosjean finished tenth in Mexico and went one step further in the Brazilian Grand Prix. The Frenchman qualified in 15th the day before and did well to make his way into the points.
“It was a fun race, and I enjoyed going through the field with some nice overtaking manoeuvres with our aggressive race strategy,” Grosjean said after the race. “It was quite hard to follow the cars, but we had good power to overtake into turn 1.”
One of the stand-out moments for Grosjean was passing Sergio Perez on the outside of Turn 3, taking advantage of the impressive maneuver by Max Verstappen on Perez at the Senna Esses.
Grosjean described the weekend as emotional, due to the attacks that occurred in Paris on Friday.
He went on to add, “The next race will be my last one with the team and taking the chequered flag in Abu Dhabi will be very special but I will give my best to bring a good result.”
