Despite being unwell, Mercedes says they expect Lewis Hamilton to race this weekend at the Autódromo José Carlos Pace.
Hamilton’s media sessions in São Paulo have been cancelled today as he has been advised by doctors to fly to Brazil a day later than planned.
A Mercedes spokesman confirmed Hamilton will arrive on Thursday and will take part in the weekend as planned.
“It’s a misunderstanding,” the spokesman from Mercedes stated.
“He’s arriving a day later than scheduled as he was told not to fly yesterday by the doctor as he was unwell.
“So we had to cancel a press conference scheduled today. But he will be with us tomorrow.”
The 30-year old has never won the Brazilian Grand Prix and will be hoping to end his drought at the Autódromo José Carlos Pace this weekend.
