# Villeneuve Frustrated With Issue Filled Day

Former F1 World Champion Jacques Villeneuve had multiple issues throughout the day and finished the race just outside of the points in eleventh.

The Canadian had limited running in the only practice session in Putrajaya after the Venturi team had to change his engine and qualified 12th for the race.

“There was some frustration because we had a good pace. But there were some issues with battery temperatures and during the pit stop the car was unable to start – ultimately I lost 20 seconds there,” Villeneuve said.

He thinks that the car is competitive, and this was shown by his team-mate Stephane Sarrazin getting fourth place. This is the second time that the Canadian has finished outside of the points, however, and he finds himself 16th in the Drivers Championship behind Jean-Eric Vergne and Simona de Silvestro.

“A lot of points were lost, but it’s clear that the cars are very competitive on the track. So far we haven’t been able to compete with 100% preparation,” Villeneuve added.
