After a thrilling Putrajaya ePrix, we rate all 18 drivers who took part in the second round of the FIA Formula E 2015/16 season.
Lucas Di Grassi – 8.5
The first win of the season for the Brazilian propels him and his ABT team to the top of both the drivers’ and constructors’ championship. He was helped massively by the technical problems for e.Dams and slow pit stop for Duval however, Di Grassi was there to pick up the pieces and made very few errors, fast race pace and a great pitstop allowed Di Grassi to be first in line to attack the failing e.Dams’.
Sam Bird – 9
After a fairly disappointing Beijing and a poor qualifying, Sam Bird bounced back to climb all the way up to 2nd place. Like Di Grassi, he was helped by the misfortunate of others but Sam kept his head down and made the moves when he needed to. A fantastic result for the Brit who goes into round three, 3rd in the overall drivers standings.

Robin Frijns – 9.5
An inspirational drive from Robin saw him score Amlin’s first podium since Da Costa’s phenomenal Argentina victory and his first Formula E victory in only his second race in the sport. Robin qualified an excellent eighth and soon made progress eventually ending up in fourth place until Dragon driver Loic Duval encountered a problem, the slow moving Dragon caused Frijns to hit the wall damaging his suspension and making him lose a place to Sam Bird, amazingly Robin nursed his car home comfortably finishing in third place when d’Ambrosio retired on the final lap.
Stéphane Sarrazin – 9
After qualifying an excellent second on the grid, the Frenchman had to start from the back after encountering a problem on the grid. While others lost their heads, Stephane carved his way through the field finishing an excellent fourth, his best ever finish in Formula E.
Bruno Senna – 8
A fairly anonymous race for the Brazilian, yet he walks away from Malaysia with 10 points in his pocket. A late charge saw him glide up the top 10 on his way to best result since London last season. This moves Bruno up to 8th in the drivers’ standings if he can keep up this pace, there is no reason why a first Formula E podium for Senna could be on the cards.
António Félix da Costa – 9
It’s a race of what could have been for the Portuguese driver, had he not suffered from a technical failure, he could easily have been on the podium today, considering he is running the 2014/15 powertrain, Antonio is doing a great job and will be hoping to get the podium he lost today back in Uruguay.
Daniel Abt – 6.5
Considering his teammate won the race and the amount of drivers who had technical problems, it was an awful weekend for Daniel Abt. It’s an all too familiar story of the German who was outshined by his team-mate yet again. To his credit, he was only two tenths off his more experienced team-mate in qualifying but was some way off his race pace.
Nelson Piquet Jr – 7.5
Piquet Jr out-qualified his teammate and conserved his energy to progress from 16th on the grid all the way up to eight over the line. Thanks to a great first stint, Piquet Jr charged through the field to score his first points of the season.
Nick Heidfeld – 6.5
Heidfeld was unlucky to get involved in a lap one incident but failed to really progress far up the field and slumped down to ninth after losing positions late on, a far cry away from his Beijing podium.

Nicolas Prost – 7
Prost struggled in qualifying and started fifth, a technical failure denied him a podium and Prost did his best to manage his energy, but he made an error with a few laps remaining and dropped down to tenth, a weekend to forget for the Frenchman and the whole e.Dams team.
Jacques Villeneuve – 6
Jacques struggled for pace all weekend and was once again way off the pace of Sarrazin in qualifying and in the race. He failed to make much progress from his starting position and finished a lowly 11th.
Sébastien Buemi – 8.5
Buemi was set for a second straight Formula E victory until a technical gremlin halted his charge. Buemi will be looking to Uruguay to regain his championship leader.

Simona de Silvestro – 6
After having mechanical issues in qualifying, De Silvestro was on the backfoot from the start and she struggled to catch-up all race. A couple of good moves were the only positives of an otherwise awful weekend.
Jerome d’Ambrosio – 6.5
Jerome’s great work all weekend was all undone after a trip into the barrier in the closing stages of the race. He was on for a third place finish.
Nathanaël Berthon – 5.5
A terrible weekend for Berthon after a strong debut. Berthon was way off team-mate Da Costa in both qualifying and the race.
Loic Duval – 7
The Frenchman will be truly gutted to lose the chance to finish on the second step of a Formula E podium for the first time in his career after he broke his suspension when he hit the wall on lap 30.
Oliver_Turvey and Jean-Éric Vergne- N/A
Both drivers had their races ended by contact. Vergne was caught up in the turn one mêlée while Turvey had a sticky throttle issue which sent him into the barrier.
