No further action against Hulkenberg for clash with Ricciardo

The FIA has confirmed Force India driver Nico Hulkenberg will not be penalised for his collision with Red Bull’s Daniel Ricciardo.

The duo collided at turn 12 resulting in suspension damage for the Force India driver while Ricciardo was able to continue.

The stewards concluded Hulkenberg would not be penalised as the German had front-wing damage at the time which prevented him from slowing sufficiently and he had lost grip.

Red Bull driver Daniel Ricciardo said after the race the damage sustained from the collision with Hulkenberg hampered his race.

“We struggled with the warm up with the tyres and also struggled a lot with braking today. It was so tricky in the dry and then obviously there were the collisions with Hulkenberg and Carlos. It went downhill from then on.”
