The FIA has decided to cancel the second practice in Austin due to poor weather conditions.
Second practice was postponed indefinitely due to lightning because marshals were unable to work for fear of being hit by it.
The downpour continued for two hours meaning the session was eventually canceled.
Saturday is expected to be just as wet thus qualifying may have to take place on Sunday morning, as it did at the 2004 and 2010 Japanese Grands Prix due to extreme rain.
