Lotus driver Pastor Maldonado says he has no preference to who partners him at Lotus/Renault in 2016.
Earlier this week it was announced Romain Grosjean would leave the team and be joining new American team Haas F1.
Maldonado admits he has no preference to who partners him in 2016 as at the end of the day, all drivers have the same goal, to improve the team, the car and beat their teammate.
“Honestly, I have no preference. Throughout your career, you work with a variety of teammates so you get used to working with different people. Ultimately, everyone is trying to make the car faster and perform as well as it can for an event, so you’re all working to the same objectives.”
Also this week, a letter of intent was signed by Renault over the purchase of Lotus. Maldonado says this is great news for everyone at Enstone and is looking forward to the good times ahead.
“This is positive news and I’m looking forward to things progressing here. I’ve worked with Renault in the past and know that they are real racers. I know Enstone always works very hard and we’ve seen what the Enstone and Renault combination has achieved in the past. Let’s hope there are great things ahead.”
