Manor Marussia driver Will Stevens says he was happy with the performance of his F1 car as he finished 15th at the Italian Grand Prix.
Stevens started a career-best 13th after several drivers, who qualified ahead, were awarded grid drop penalties due to engine changes.
The Brit expressed his delight over the handling of his Marussia and was happy to battle other cars such as the Toro Rosso’s, McLaren’s and Sauber’s in the opening laps
“That was a good race. The car was well-balanced, we had good pace and for the first few laps I could enjoy some proper racing with the cars coming from behind us. Inevitably, things settled down a bit after that but we were able to push hard and maintain the momentum.
Stevens added he is looking forward to the flyaway races in the upcoming weeks.
I was very comfortable this weekend and feel like things are going my way again, so now I’m really looking forward to the long-hauls.”
