# Trummer returns to Hilmer for Monza

This morning, Hilmer Motorsport announced Swiss racing driver Simon Trummer will take over the #24 car of Nick Yelloly for round eight of the GP2 championship this weekend at Monza.

Trummer previously made a one-off appearance for Hilmer in Austria where he struggled to 22nd and 18th after qualifying in 24th place over 1.5 seconds off his team mate Nick Yelloly.

The 26-year-old made his GP2 debut back in 2012 and he has scored in 12 of the 70 GP2 races he has competed in with Arden, Rapax and most recently Hilmer.

Undoubtedly his career highlights came in 2014 in the Bahrain sprint race where he started and finished 2nd scoring his first and currently only GP2 podium.

This weekend he will be hoping to score points for the first time since Germany 2014 and help the struggling team battle for a top 10 place in the constructors standings. They currently sit 12th, five points off 10th place Lazarus.

It looks likely that for a 2nd weekend running Hilmer will only run 1 car and it remains unclear why Nick Yelloly will not be competing at this weekend’s round.

Trummer becomes the 4th driver replacement announcement for Monza this weekend following [Niederhauser (Lazarus)](https://readmotorsport.com/2015/09/01/patric-niederhauser-drive-lazarus-monza/) [Binder (MP Motorsport)](https://readmotorsport.com/2015/09/02/binder-break-ties-trident/) and Mardenborough (Carlin)
