Red Bull team boss Christian Horner says his outfit will have to wait until the Singapore Grand Prix in September for an opportunity to score a ‘big result’.
Daniil Kvyat and Daniel Ricciardo finished second and third last time out in Hungary due to it not being a power-dependent circuit which inevitably allowed them to be more competitive.
Spa and Monza will not suit the RB11 thus he expects Red Bull to be uncompetitive at the next two events.
“We’re going to live in the moment for now and think about Spa after the break, and particularly Monza,” said Horner.
“They’re going to be much more challenging than Hungary, so Singapore’s probably our next opportunity to shine.
“We’re going to keep pushing, keep developing the car, and you never know, it could be wet at Spa.
“You’ve got to be in a position to capitalise on those days when it doesn’t quite go right for others.”
Despite not receiving any upgrades on the power unit side, Horner expressed his happiness over the improvement in aero.
“The aero boys have made some improvements around the front of the car, and mechanically there’s been a bit of improvement too,” added Horner.
“The regulation changes over the winter actually did hurt us with the front of the car.
“But we’ve now recovered from that, with the last two or three races pretty positive on the chassis side.”
