Alex Lynn took his second win of the season ahead of his DAMS teammate Pierre Gasly in a fantastic race for the French team.
Lynn started from pole position on the medium tyre and maintained his lead at the start of the race. From fifth on the grid, Gasly enjoyed a fantastic start and got past Vandoorne into second. The safety car was deployed on lap 3 after Sergio Canamasas crashed his Hilmer.
The first round of pit-stops took place on lap 7 as championship leader Vandoorne pitted. Unfortunately for him, his stop was slightly delayed and resulted in an unsafe release. Vandoorne was awarded a five-second penalty.
As the raced progressed, the drivers who stopped early on gained on the leaders. Lynn and Gasly made their stops with a dozen laps remaining and had to carve their way through the field on the option tyres.
Lynn put in several ballsy overtakes, including passes on Rio Haryanto and then Vandoorne for the lead. He quickly established a comfortable lead over his team-mate to take his second win of the season.
Vandoorne took the chequered flag ahead of both Sirotkin and Haryanto, however the penalty received for his unsafe release meant he dropped to fifth.
Jordan King came home sixth, ahead of Raffaele Marciello. The Trident driver ran third early on but was unable to make the most of the option tyres late on. Nobuharu Matsushita was eighth – taking reverse grid pole for the sprint race, ahead of Robert Visoiu and Daniel de Jong.
