Felipe Massa says the cooler temperatures expected on Sunday will benefit Williams and allow them to control tyre temperatures.

Track temperatures at the Hungaroring today reached above 50 degrees Celsius however cooler temperatures are expected on race day.

The Brazilian will be without the new front wing introduced by the team for this weekend as there is only one version which team-mate Bottas will use.

”The way the day has panned out it is clear we have the potential to have a good weekend and fight with those closest to us in the championship.” he said. ”It won’t be easy but we have more to give than was shown today. The temperatures will be cooler for Sunday which should help us control the tyre temperature a bit better.

Despite not running the new front wing this weekend, Massa says it will benefit him later in the season.

”Valtteri had a lot of work focusing on the front wing and it looks as though it is an improvement which is good for the rest of the season.”
