The race stewards have decided not to penalise Kimi Raikkonen or Fernando Alonso after the two came together on lap 1 which resulted in the deployment of a safety car and the retirement of both drivers.

In the official decision document, the explanation for no penalty was: “No driver was at fault”.

As a result of their early retirements, Kimi remains in fourth position in the drivers championship with Bottas and Massa closing the gap to 5 and 10 points.

Alonso has now retired from 4 grand prix consecutively and is yet to score a point in 2015.
