Williams driver Felipe Massa has said he is pleased to have completed their respective test programme on day one of the mid-season test in Barcelona.

Felipe Massa finished sixth at the Spanish Grand Prix and was back in the FW37.

The Brazilian set the eighth fastest time of the day, completing 54 laps.

“It has been a productive day and we got through the programme without any issues. In the morning we looked at aero work so I had a lot of equipment attached to the car. We then looked at set-up work in the afternoon. We had data from the weekend to start off with as a base and could move forward from there.” said Massa.

Tricky wind conditions affected the Spanish Grand Prix weekend however the wind speed slowed down which allowed the teams to set faster lap times.

”There was a little less wind today than the last few days hence why lap times are a bit quicker. I will now turn my focus to Monaco which I am really looking forward to.” added Massa.

Reigning GP3 champion Alex Lynn will take over from Felipe Massa on day two of the test.
