Hamilton remains top of British Sportsperson Rich List

Formula 1 World Champion Lewis Hamilton is still Britain’s highest paid sportsperson, according to the Sunday Times Sports Rich List. The 30 year old is reported to have an £88 million pound fortune – up £20 million from last year.

Hamilton lives in the tax haven of Monaco, along with several other drivers.

Former McLaren team mate Jenson Button has dropped to third, behind Manchester United and England captain Wayne Rooney. Andy Murray is behind the 2009 world champion with a value of £48 million, whilst footballers Rio Ferdinand and Steven Gerrard come in fifth and sixth.

For the first time, football managers Arsene Wenger and Jose Mourinho are in the top 10, with the Chelsea boss £2 million ahead of his London rival.
