Williams Chief Technical Officer, Pat Symonds, says their FW37 is on par with Ferrari’s championship challenger according to their analysis from the Jerez test earlier this month.
“We are where we wanted to be.” Symonds told Auto Motor und Sport. “Ferrari have apparently a made good jump”.
Symonds agreed that Williams and Ferrari are neck and neck – with Mercedes leading the way still, and said the Brackley-based team still had the handbrake on.
“We are far from Quali-mode” said Chief Engineer, Rod Nelson. Williams’ Jerez work schedule was based around long-fueled runs, system and aerodynamic checks and measurements – with performance runs still to come in Barcelona.
