The Lotus E23 has made its first public outing on the second day of the opening pre-season test at Jerez.
The team released computer renders of the E23 in January, but a delay with the development of the car meant they could not do any running on Sunday, as the car was being flown to the circuit.
Initially, Lotus has stated that they would not do any running until Tuesday, but a hard night’s work for the mechanics meant the E23 was able to make its debut today, with Pastor Maldonado at the wheel.
Lotus will challenge for the 2015 title with Maldonado and Romain Grosjean as the race drivers, with reigning GP2 champion Jolyon Palmer acting at the reserve driver.
