This morning the Marussia F1 team have thanked Formula One fans for their support and have asked publically for patience as will only release details of Jules Bianchi’s condition with the consent of his family.
Bianchi remains in ICU at the Mie General Medical Center in Yokkaichi having undergone emergency surgery on Sunday night.
Bianchi suffered a “severe” head injury when he crashed into a tractor having gone off into the gravel trap at Turn 7 at the Suzuka circuit yesterday at the Japanese Grand Prix.
As of yet, there has been no official word on his condition with Marussia stating that information on his condition will only be released if his family wishes to do so to the media.
The official press release from the Marussia F1 team is as follows below:-
‘Following the accident involving Jules Bianchi during yesterday’s 2014 Formula One Japanese Grand Prix at Suzuka Circuit, the Marussia F1 Team would like to acknowledge the huge outpouring of support and affection for Jules and the Team at this very difficult time.
‘ ‘With regard to the communication of information concerning Jules’ medical condition, we will respect, and be guided by, the wishes of the Bianchi family. Together with Jules’ care, they will remain our highest priority.
‘Therefore, we would ask for patience and understanding with regard to further medical updates, which will be communicated in conjunction with the Mie General Medical Center in Yokkaichi, where Jules is being treated, when they feel it is appropriate.
‘Representatives of the Marussia F1 Team and Scuderia Ferrari will remain at the hospital to support Jules and the Bianchi family.’
Even though we all wish the circumstances wasn’t like this, it is nice to see the Marussia F1 Team acknowledge the support of all the Formula One fans that have been really supporting both the team and Jules during this difficult time for them. It is clear that Marussia will not announce any information regarding his condition without the approval of the Bianchi family who I cannot imagine what they are going through right now.
F1 Update will keep you updated with Bianchi as soon as we receive something official from the hospital, Bianchi’s family, the Marussia team or any official publication such as Autosport. But our main concern and priority right now is that Jules is okay after his accident and that he is as well as he can be under these difficult circumstances.
As a team, our thoughts and prayers are with him and his family at this sad and difficult time. We are all thinking about you and we hope you are okay Jules and that you keep fighting, we are behind you all the way. #ForzaJules
