Once again Kimi Raikkonen has stated that he will finish his Formula 1 career with current team Ferrari. He also denied any rumours which suggested that he may want to leave the Scuderia before his current contract is over.
The Finn is currently in his second spell with the Ferrari team after three years previous. He is also the last world champion to be embraced by the Maranello team which was won back in 2007.
However, a poor return season from Raikkonen has cast doubts over whether or not he will want to complete his current contract with Ferrari.
In a recent interview with CNN’s ‘The Circuit’ after being asked whether or not he wanted to quit, Raikkonen said: “No I never said that.
“The only thing that I said was that I will finish my career in Ferrari, F1 career in Ferrari, then people came up with ‘it’s end of this year, it’s now, it’s then’.
“With newspapers they just try to make rumours, wanting to be the guy that writes something up, it’s just rumours.”
Raikkonen did not reveal much about what his future may hold but said the only that is certain is that he will finish with Ferrari.
He added: “I’m not a young guy anymore so obviously I want to do something more in my life than just Formula One.
“But I have no plans, I will finish my career at Ferrari, we’ll see in the future.”
