Red Bull’s Sebastian Vettel will be working with a new race engineer among alterations taking place in their technical department, the team’s sources confirm.
The reigning world champion has had a testing 2014 campaign so far this year, struggling to get on top of the Red Bull and its different demands, whilst being outshone by new team-mate Daniel Ricciardo and witnessed Adrian Newey planning to reduce his involvement with the team.
Now Vettel’s current engineer Guillame Rocquelin, with whom he’s been with since he joined Red Bull, was among the team personnel affected by the recent technical refining, with Rocquelin promoted to a more senior role and will see him being based at the team’s factory more.
While on the German’s side of the garage, his partnership with Vettel has successfully assisted him to his four world championships as well as the four constructors championships for the Milton-Keynes outfit.
It is understood that Rocquelin will still be at races despite the senior role requiring him to work at the factory more often.
