Kimi Raikkonen has said that Ferrari’s F14 T is not a complete disaster, and that it is a strong base for their 2015 car. However, he also stated that there are a lot of areas that Ferrari have to improve on.
After severe rule changes for the 2014 season, Ferrari have struggled to get to grips with their troublesome car. They have had problems with their power unit which is believed to be overweight and a lot more thirsty compared to its challengers.
Raikkonen has struggled throughout 2014 with a highest finishing position of 6th, whilst team-mate Fernando Alonso has achieved two podiums at China and Hungary.
But the Finn believes that with only minor rule changes for 2015, Ferrari have a chance of a strong campaign.
“It’s not a disaster, that’s for sure,” he is quoted as saying by Crash.net.
“Otherwise there would not be the results that the team has achieved so far. Obviously we know the areas where we have to work and it’s a bit everywhere; we are not really bad anywhere but we are not fantastic either anywhere.
“So it’s kind of a bit everywhere. It’s a reliable car, in some places it works better and in some conditions it’s better but we have a lot of places where we know that if we can improve those then it can make a big, big difference and improve the whole thing a lot.”
