article-2592169-1CAA432300000578-283_634x4571997 Formula 1 world champion Jacques Villeneuve believes that both Lewis Hamilton and Sebastian Vettel will not continue with their current teams for much longer. Hamilton joined Mercedes in 2013 from McLaren and Vettel has been with Red Bull since 2009 after moving up from their junior team, Toro Rosso.

With Formula 1’s “silly season” seemingly underway and rumours of driver-team link-ups begging, Villeneuve said: “Lewis Hamilton will not be at Mercedes for long,” he told Sport Bild. “Everyone in the German team wants a German to be world champion.

“Lewis was only brought in to make Nico (Rosberg) even better.”

With rumours of Vettel possibly going off to teams like Mercedes and McLaren, the German firmly denied the reports but said he would consider their offers.

Canadian, Villeneuve said: “Sebastian has to leave Red Bull.

“The public is already changing its opinion of him, as in a middle class car, he is starting to look like a middle-class driver.”
