Felipe-Massa_3099668Felipe Massa is content with how qualifying went for Williams after a tough Friday. Massa qualified third whilst team-mate Valterri Bottas joined Nico Rosberg on the front row with a strong second place.

After Lewis Hamilton suffered a heavy crash in Q1, this gave a chance for both Williams drivers to seize the initiative to take the battle to pole-man Rosberg.

However, a strong lap from Rosberg secured pole after it looked as though Bottas could go to the top after a middle sector time which was 0.2 faster than Rosberg, but it ultimately did not come together.

“We managed to put a lap together even though we were not able to have the perfect car,” Massa said after qualifying.

“We still did a very good lap and I’m quite happy with the result and our car. In the race conditions will give a different feeling of the car but I will try to do a very good job.”
