Mick Schumacher will continue with Prema Powerteam for a second season in the European Formula 3 championship.

Schumacher made his F3 debut last season after finishing second in the German and Italian Formula 4 championships with Prema in 2016.

He took a number of rookie podiums and an overall top three finish in his first year in the series, finishing 12th overall.

The 18-year-old hopes to continue to develop in his second year in the championship.

“The competition in Formula 3 is tough, strong, and tight,” he said.

“It is enriching to fight at this level, that’s why I very much look forward to racing here for another season.

“The fact that I can continue to work with a professional team such as Prema can only help me move forward.

“The team is great to work with and I am convinced we can experience some more exciting moments together.

“I am committed to advancing further and want to fight at the top with the best drivers.”

Schumacher will be part of an extended five car line-up at Prema in 2018. He’s joined by Ferrari Academy drivers Guanyu Zhou, Marcus Armstrong and Robert Shwartzman and F3 race winner Ralf Aron.
