Keyvan Andres switches to Van Amersfoort for second F3 season
Van Amersfoort Racing has signed Keyvan Andres for the 2018 Formula 3 European Championship.
Andres began his car racing career in the United States, before switching to Europe in 2016 to race in the Euroformula Open series.
He finished 12th in the drivers’ championship and switched to Euro F3 in 2017 with Motopark. Andres was the only full-time driver to fail to score a point.
“I am ready for the next step in my racing career,” the 17-year-old said.
“Last season was very useful in getting used to racing the latest spec Formula 3 car and learning the characteristics of the different tracks.
“I want to use this experience to be competitive together with Van Amersfoort Racing. I am very much looking forward to the season since Van Amersfoort Racing is one of the very best teams in Formula 3.”
Team founder Frits van Amersfoort said, “we like to give Keyvan a warm welcome in our team.
“Considering Keyvan is only 17 years old, he has collected quite some experience in single-seater racing around the globe.
“It is our goal to help him using his experience and talent to be competitive in the forthcoming European F3 season.”
Andres is the 16th driver confirmed for the 2018 season. 2017 VAR driver Harrison Newey confirmed his plans to race in the European Le Mans Series this year.
Pedro Piquet and Joey Mawson, who also spent the entirety of last season with the team are yet to announce their plans for this year.
