Less than a month after securing the German Formula 4 championship, Juri Vips will make his European Formula 3 debut with Motopark this weekend.

Vips will return to Hockenheim, the site of his F4 victory, for the final round of the F3 championship, replacing Romanian racer Petru Florescu. Florescu joined the F3 grid two rounds ago, making the step up from the Euroformula Open championship, but has dropped out of the Hockenheim round on medical grounds.

“Juri is super excited to go and race in F3, and he loved the car when he tested at Magny-Cours,” Vips’ mentor Marko Asmer told Autosport.

“He’s a racer, and this will be a good experience for him.”

Vips completed a two day test last summer in an F3 car with Prema Powerteam, the team with which he claimed the F4 title.

He will be competing against ADAC F4 rival Felipe Drugovich, who will make his F3 debut with Van Amersfoort this weekend.
