Zurich joins 2017-18 Formula E calendar
A Zurich street race has been added to the Formula E calendar more than 60 years after Switzerland banned motorsport following a fatal accident.
The World Motorsport Council has confirmed FE’s 2017-18 calendar at its meeting in Paris.
Zurich is one of four cities new to the championship this year, and will host the 10th ePrix of the season on the 10th June.
Santiago in early February, Sao Paulo in March, and Rome in April will also be making their Formula E debuts.
Though Munich was in contention to replace Berlin, the German capital has been confirmed on the 2017-18 calendar. Berlin will be the only city to host an ePrix in every season so far, if the event goes ahead.
The only other change to the provisional calendar launched in June is the date of the New York ePrix which has been moved back a week to the 14th and 15th of July, leaving only two weeks between the final two rounds of the championship
