Alex Marquez has taken first position in the second practice session for the Moto2 class at the French GP.

Marquez took first late on after former MotoGP rider Yonny Hernandez held first position for the majority of the session. Hernandez would eventually end up third, with Francesco Bagnaia ending Friday in second place.

Franco Morbidelli was fourth, whilst Luca Marini was fifth. Xavi Vierge ended the day in sixth, with Simone Corsi and Hafizh Syahrin finishing behind him in seventh and eighth place respectively.

Miguel Oliveria and Tom Luthi were the final riders inside the top ten, finishing ninth and tenth respectively.

Tarran Mackenzie, replacing Danny Kent for the rest of the season at the Kiefer Racing squad, was one of the fallers during this session. The Scot crashed out early on, but came home in 25th place, in front of his Dad’s rival’s son, Remy Gardner.

The Moto2 riders will be back out tomorrow for FP3 and qualifying to decide the order for Sunday’s race.
