Gresini Racing’s Jorge Martin ended a wet second free practice session at Le Mans on top.
Martin managed to control the wet conditions, and ended the final session on Friday in first position, putting him in a great position for tomorrow’s FP3 and qualifying sessions.
However, the story of the session was the returning Danny Kent. The 2015 Moto3 world champion ended the session in second, on his return to the class after splitting with Keifer Racing in Moto2. Kent’s wildcard appearance at Le Mans may be a one off, but he still has the pace in this class.
Nicolo Antonelli was third, with Japanese rider Tatsuki Suzuki ending up in fourth. Fabio Di Giannantonio ended the day in fifth, with Nicolo Bulega and Marcos Ramirez behind the Italian in sixth and seventh place respectively.
Marco Bezzecchi was eighth, a good result for the Italian. Andrea Migno and Darryn Binder were the final riders inside the top ten.
The Moto3 riders will be back out tomorrow, for the final free practice session and then qualifying.
