DAMS has released its line-up for the 2017 GP3 season, with Bruno Baptista and Tatiana Calderon joining returning driver Santino Ferrucci at the team.
Baptista will make his debut in the series, graduating from the Formula Renault 2.0 NEC and Eurocup championships.
Calderon moves over to the team after racing for Arden in 2016, finishing in points-scoring positions on two occasions in Germany and Italy.
Ferrucci remains with the French squad after finishing 12th in the Drivers’ Championship last season, finishing on the podium once at the Belgian sprint race.
The American driver believes that he can push on in 2017 and wants to stand on the highest step of the podium for the first time.
DAMS claimed two wins during 2016 with Jake Hughes winning sprint races in Germany and Abu Dhabi.
“The aim for this year will be to consistently finish in the top five and to be challenging for race wins,” he said.
“The team worked extremely hard last year and to get those victories was a great accomplishment, so we have a good foundation to build on.”
Calderon also has ambitions to be in the points during the season after expressing her happiness in becoming a member of the team.
“I’ve tested for DAMS on two occasions now and have always liked the way they work,” she said.
“They really care about drivers and make you feel comfortable, whilst pushing you to your absolute limit. DAMS run a very professional operation and it the perfect place for me to continue my motorsport career.
“My race pace from last year was good and to be finishing in the top ten at every race is the goal.”
All three drivers already have experience of the team and its operations after working with them at various points of post-season testing at the end of 2016.
