Nico Prost made it three consecutive fourth-place finishes in season three of the FIA Formula E Championship to hold onto third place in the championship, whilst helping extend Renault e.dams’ lead in the teams’ standings.

What turned out to be another relatively clean and quiet race for the Frenchmen that saw him in third-place for a couple of laps, Prost spent the latter third of the race driving around in fourth-place, crossing the 1.1 seconds adrift Lucas di Grassi in third.

“It was a very good race for me. I lost one place at the start where there was a lot of zig-zagging going on, but after that I chased the cars in front and made some strong overtakes.” said Prost. “I was happy with the pace in the first car and overtook Lucas. My second car didn’t feel quite as strong, and he was able to re-take me. I thought we might get the position back after the race, but it wasn’t to be.”

With the racing going reasonably well and his race results being very consistent, Prost highlighted improvements in qualifying are needed in his post-race comments, as a podium is undoubtedly the least he expects at the next round in Mexico.

“I’ve lacked a tiny bit in qualifying,” added Prost. “So we’re going to look very closely at the set-up as that has previously been a strength for me. If I can find just a little bit more pace in qualifying I’ll be very happy; that’s the target for Mexico.”

Prost is now 10 points off of Lucas di Grassi in the championship standings and 14 points ahead of Jean-Eric Vergne. Renault e.dams, on the other hand have extended their lead to 61 points over ABT Schaeffler Audi Sport in the teams’ standings.
