Williams is the first team to unveil its 2017 car in an online reveal through the team’s Twitter account.

The FW40, which celebrates the team’s 40th Anniversary in Formula 1, shows no substantial changes in its colour scheme, still supporting the Martini title sponsorship.

The biggest noticeable change is the rear wing; which is very similar to what Ferrari had been using on their 2015 mule car for testing the 2017 Pirelli tyres.

Manor also appeared to be ready to use a similar rear wing design, this was after the team unveiled its wind tunnel model in a picture when it was confirmed the team was closing down.

At the front of the car, the thumb tipped nose design is still prominent from their previous two cars from 2015-16.

The previously seen shark fin on the engine cover looks to have made a reappearance, however it is noticeably shorter – not stretching entirely to the rear wing.

Felipe Massa has been brought out of a short retirement to partner rookie Lance Stroll for the 2017 season after Valtteri Bottas departed for the Mercedes team.

Pre-season testing begins on February 27 – March 2.
