Formula One Management will now be broadcasting driver briefings to TV broadcasters from the Japanese Grand Prix onwards, according to Motorsport Total.
This move from the FOM will give fans behind the scenes access to what drivers talk about during their briefings together during a Grand Prix weekend.
For a very long time fans have felt stifled by the limited amount of footage that has been available for F1, hopefully, this is now a step in the right direction in an attempt to perhaps give some transparency to the teams fighting at the front.
It could give us more of an insight to how teams and drivers deal with certain issues, especially if there are fractious topics on the agenda such as the Mercedes fallout from the Spanish Grand Prix or Max Verstappen’s aggressive defending.

Teams may not be so happy about this move as quite often a lot of sensitive information can be mentioned in such briefings. This could lead to teams perhaps watering down some of the content that gets spoken about during such times.
With new owners in the wings of Formula One in the shape of Liberty Media who are one of the leaders in the sports broadcasting market, they may have helped push through this proposal as part of their lengthy future involvement in Formula One.
Broadcasters who have build-up shows as part of their coverage will now no doubt have much more material to place inside their shows to shake up their current format to help give fans another reason to watch their shows prior to a race.
