Lewis Hamilton returned to the top of the timesheets ahead of Mercedes teammate and title rival Nico Rosberg in second practice for the Malaysia Grand Prix at the Sepang International Circuit.

The Mercedes duo continued to dominate proceedings at a hot and humid Sepang Circuit with the next best driver over six-tenths off Hamilton’s best time. Ferrari’s Sebastian Vettel was best of the rest in third fastest, leading teammate Kimi Raikkonen and Red Bull’s Max Verstappen.

Force India continued to show that they have the pace over Williams this weekend in the fight for fourth in the constructors’ championship. Sergio Perez was sixth ahead of Fernando Alonso, who continued to impress in the MP4-31. The second Red Bull of Daniel Ricciardo could only manage eighth with Jenson Button and Nico Hulkenberg rounding out the top 10.

After being unable to complete any running in FP1 due to a fire, Kevin Magnussen was able to complete 19 laps in the RS16.
