A difficult day for Nasr at Hockenheim
Felipe Nasr has described Friday practice for him at the Hockenheimring as ‘difficult’ as the Brazilian finished last in second practice.
Sauber have yet to score a point in 2016 and their pace thus far this weekend suggests they will not be ending this trend anytime soon.
Sauber teammate Marcus Ericsson fared slightly better, ending FP1 in 11th and FP2 in 18th.
Nasr complained that his Sauber was very difficult to drive.
“It was a difficult day for me. I did not feel comfortable in the car. The handling as well as the driveability of the car is quite weak at the moment.
“We were not able to get the tyres to work properly, likewise with the set-up of the car. We will look into different areas of the car to understand where the issues come from. We need to sort it out for the rest of the weekend.”
On the other hand, Ericsson was more pleased with his performance and the pace shown in practice.
“It’s been a decent Friday. I was able to run a good amount of laps in both sessions. We tried the new rear wing again in FP1, and finally see the numbers we want to.
“We will continue with our in-depth analysis, but it seems to be a step forward. We also plan to keep this rear wing for the rest of this weekend, which is a positive sign. Let’s see where we stand tomorrow.”
