Nico Hulkenberg has confirmed he will be racing for Force India in 2017.

The German will remain with the team for a fourth consecutive season, however, the identity of his teammate is still unclear.

Team boss Vijay Mallya confirmed at Silverstone that both Hulkenberg and Sergio Perez would remain at the team for another season.

Perez has since cast some doubt of this, stating that it’s down to his sponsors and backers where he will be racing in 2017.

The Mexican has been heavily linked with a move to Renault, who are expected to drop both Jolyon Palmer and Kevin Magnussen for next season.

“Everything is easy and relaxed. There’s not much more to add,” Hulkenberg said in Thursday’s press conference prior to the German Grand Prix this weekend.

“I think Vijay said what the situation is, and just focus on this year now. That’s the main focus really.”

Hulkenberg was directly asked if he was going to be with Force India in 2017, he replied: “Yes.”
