Nico Rosberg has been summoned to the stewards over an alleged breach of the rules after setting his pole position lap for the Hungarian Grand Prix under yellow flag conditions.

Rosberg snatched pole off Hamilton after the latter was unable to complete his final lap due to double waved yellow flags in the middle sector after Fernando Alonso spun his McLaren at Turn 9.

Three hours later, it appears the stewards now wish to investigate Rosberg’s qualifying lap to see if he lifted off.

A statement from the FIA said: “The driver (Nico Rosberg) and team representative are required to report to the Stewards at 19:45 in relation to the incident below.

“Reason: Alleged breach of Appendix H. Article 2.4.5.1 b) of the FIA International Sporting Code – failure to slow for yellow flags at 15:54.”
