Parry fastest in GP3 practice in Budapest
Matthew Parry was the fastest man in GP3 practice at the Hungaroring as he looks to be the man to beat this weekend going into tomorrow’s qualifying session.
The Koiranen GP driver’s quickest time was 0.027s quicker than ART Grand Prix’s Nirei Fukuzumi in second and over a tenth faster than the second ART of Charles Leclerc, who leads the drivers’ standings.
Overall practice at the Hungaroring was very straightforward and drama free as all of the teams and drivers got to grips with the newly resurfaced circuit.
Trident’s Antonio Fuoco finished the session in fourth place ahead of Koiranen’s Matevos Isaakyan and ART’s Alexander Albon, who sits second in the drivers’ standings behind Leclerc.
DAMS’ Jake Hughes and ART’s Nyck de Vries completed the top eight spots with Arden’s Jake Dennis and Jenzer Motorsport’s Arjun Maini rounding out the top 10.
With the field separated by just 1.7 seconds, qualifying will be tight and crucial due to the limited overtaking opportunities that the Hungaroring provides.
