After a disastrous Russian Grand Prix, Red Bull are considering swapping Daniil Kvyat and Max Verstappen for the upcoming Spanish Grand Prix, according to reports.
Senior officials at Red Bull are considering replacing Kvyat after the Russian collided with Ferrari’s Sebastian Vettel on two occasions on the opening lap forcing the German to retire from the race whilst Kvyat limped home well outside the points paying positions.
Kvyat has been considerably off the pace in comparison to more experienced teammate Daniel Ricciardo and the appointment of highly-rated Verstappen may improve the team’s fortunes after a disappointing race in Sochi.

Red Bull motorsport advisor Helmut Marko was understandably angry after the race and ruled the second collision as unacceptable.
“Braking too late once and hitting another car would be acceptable in front of his home crowd, but this doesn’t apply for the second crash,” said Marko.
“It’s a pity because he did not only ruin Vettel’s race and [Daniel] Ricciardo’s race, but also his own race. He had to do an extra stop. It was a day of disaster for Red Bull.”
“Let’s cool down a bit. During the week we will talk about this,” he said.
We will have to wait and see whether these rumours are true.
