The world’s eyes turn to the Losail international circuit in Qatar this weekend as the MotoGP season finally returns.

Many expect Jorge Lorenzo and Valentino Rossi to once again lock horns after a incredible 2015 season which saw the two Movistar Yamaha riders battle it out throughout the entire season, with it controversially ending in Valencia after Rossi was handed a grid penalty thanks to an incident at Sepang, that saw Rossi knock two-time World Champion Marc Marquez off his bike, handing Lorenzo the title.

The Losail Circuit in Qatar has become the traditional host of the first round of the World Championship, with the races taking place in the night since 2008. The first time that the riders visited the circuit was in 2004, where Sete Gibernau took the first win.

Here, we will count down five of the best MotoGP races to ever take place at the Middle Eastern circuit.
