Pramac Yakhnich Ducati rider Danilo Petrucci has been forced out of the first MotoGP race of the season at the Losail International Circuit in Qatar due to developments in the injury he suffered last month during pre-season.

Petrucci has run in all the practice sessions so far but visited the Clinica Mobile immediately after FP3, where the Italian finished fourteenth, and found that there had been some movement of a bone segment of the third metacarpal of his right hand injured at Phillip Island in February.
This will be disappointing to many after Petrucci showed some solid form throughout pre-season testing before injuring himself during the Phillip Island test. He has yet to recover that speed, with the former Ioda rider featuring mainly around the mid-field during the recent Qatar test and also during the other free practice sessions.
Petrucci will now sit out the rest of the weekend in the hope that he will be fit and ready for the Argentine Grand Prix in two weeks time at the Termas de Rio Hondo circuit.
