Mercedes in talks with Manor over supplying engines

Mercedes are in talks with Manor over supplying engines for 2016 according to German F1 website f1-insider.com.

Manor are currently supplied by Ferrari however, the latest reports suggest they are in talks with Mercedes, who currently have the best power unit on the Formula One grid.

If Mercedes were to supply Manor with engines, their development driver and DTM star Pascal Wehrlein could drive for the team. In a similar way to Jules Bianchi drove for Manor from 2013 to 2014 due to the Ferrari partnership.

If Mercedes were not to supply Manor with engines for 2016, Wehrlein could replace Nico Hulkenberg at Force India, who has been strongly linked with a move to Haas F1. The article suggests if Hulkenberg is retained, it would have serious ramifications on the current deal between Mercedes and Force India thus it may force the latter to look for an engine supplier elsewhere.

With the impending return of Renault, there could be a lot of changes in terms of engines for the coming seasons in Formula One.
